Group 2 works with the Maglite, pinhole and screen. They observe the spot of illumination on the screen; then they move the pinhole and observe how the spot moves. Then they explain their observation verbally. Jonathan notices that it appears to be lines of light going out from the Maglite tip (actually a diffraction effect in the eye or camera) and he refers to them when claiming that light goes out in all directions.
