UL L4 Video Clip 1: Class answers CQ 4-2
The instructor asks the class to justify why they chose white for CQ 4-2. One student responds in terms of all the colors combined giving white. She refers to the particles from the colored light sources entering the observer's eye in the PhET simulation. Another student then talks in terms of an overload of colors giving white.
UL L4 Video Clip 2: Group 1 discusses CQ 4-3
Group 1 discusses the clicker question asking which (fictional) student describes what the red color gel does. They think the answer is C (Daryl) but are unsure. Mikayla says the red gel is adding red and taking away blue and green.
UL L4 Video Clip 3: Group 2 looks through the red gel
Group 2 uses spectral glasses and red gel to answer the question in the middle of page L-39 about what the red gel actually does. They immediately conclude that the red gel is letting the red through and taking the other colors away.
UL L4 Video Clip 5: Group 2 decides what cyan and magenta gels do
Group 2 is working on filling out the Table on page L-40. Jonathan looking through cyan gel and says that the red is removed. Then Courtney looks through the magenta (she calls it purple) gel and sees red and blue with the green gone and then Jonathan confirms it.
UL L4 Video Clip 6: Class responds to CQ 4-5
The instructor calls on students to explain why they chose E (you see yellow because the paper absorbs the blue band and reflects the red and green bands into your eye). Veronica talks in terms of wavelengths and colors. Then another student provides a more complete explanation.
UL L4 Video Clip 7: Class answers SQ #3
The instructor asks two groups to share their answers to SQ #3. The first student assumes there is already a yellow filter in front of the light, and says that you can then place a blue filter in front of the yellow filter and together they will remove all the colors so no light shines on the dress (object). A second student adds another answer that also will work.
